Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter for WPDE-TV which was located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later worked as morning news anchor and crime reporter for WCBD-TV. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston, about how the Charleston police handled DUI cases with leniency led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter directive for state authorities. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. After her time at Charleston, O'Dell worked as an anchor co-host for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative reporter. She then was hired by Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. Additionally, she is an anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Other co-hosting credits include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
